MANILA, Philippines — ARIELLA Arida, a 24-year-old from Laguna, will be the Philippines’s representative to the Miss Universe pageant this year. She was named Miss Universe Philippines 2013 during the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum.
Arida, a keen sportswoman who loves the outdoors, especially the beach, was also judged best in swimsuit in the 50th edition of the beauty pageant.
Meanwhile, Bea Rose Santiago, a 23-year-old from Masbate, was named Bb. Pilipinas-International. Santiago loves to travel and at one time, had been to 12 cities in two countries in just two months.
Twenty-three-year-old Joanna Cindy Miranda of Nueva Ecijia was crowned Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism.
Finally, 20-year-old Mutya Johanna Datul of Isabela was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Supranational. Datul, who was also named Bb. Photogenic and Best in Evening Gown, financed her schooling and her mother’s medical expenses by participating in beauty pageants.
